There are two women in William’s home his wife Martha Helms Streaper and possibly the wife of Isaac.

Identification of the two unknown Streaper’s found in the 1800 census is as follows.

UNIDENTIFIED STREAPER FEMALE 1800

In reading the Joseph Price Diary it becomes apparent that he is involved with Mary Streaper whom he calls Polly. A name used to distinguish her from her step-mother  Mary Streaper. In January of 1797 it is apparent he is still very much involved with Polly. In September 4, 1797 Polly Streaper gives birth to a girl child later identified as Ann Streaper. This is the unidentified female in the 1800 census record.

Joseph Price records: September 15, 1797 finding a nurse for Polly because Alice has to leave. November 28, 1797 fined by meeting. Taking Polly to his mother’s November 29, 1797 and also on November 29th he “Let Loose at John Evans (Polly’s cousin) because “he Spread a report that I was not Married, only keep her as a Harlot”.

UNIDENTIFIED STREAPER MALE 1800

If we look at this census record and we understand that William Streaper has become a gate keeper on the turnpike. We have to acknowledge that Joseph Price as supervisor of the turnpike has arranged the job as the administrator of Abraham Streaper’s Will. We see that Isaac is also in residence. Isaac must have a son we have not identified.

Joseph Strubles is found living on a property adjoining the family Pechin in the 1850 Radnor Township census. His son Abraham is a stone mason. In 1801 Mary Streaper married Titus Yerkes who Hauled Marble for a living. William Streaper owned a quarry. Abraham Struble as this line would come to be known could learn his trade in this family.

A future generation of Streaper is paid an annuity for the same property from the Augustinian’s at Villa Nova, Radnor Township Delaware County Pennsylvania. Local History of the township tells us that William Streaper also transfers part of this property to a Pechin. The conclusion is that the unidentified male Streaper in the 1800 Radnor census is Joseph Streaper/Strubles.
